Berry & Soft Fruit Crusher Application Review
Evaluate whether berries and soft fruit need crushing before pulping or refining, with trials focused on texture, seeds and transfer.
FRUIT & PROCESS FIT
First decide whether the fruit needs crushing at all.
Application suitability and capacity are confirmed against the actual feed and offered working assembly.
Discuss this fruit requirement
Choose the processing task
For soft fruit, define the required output before selecting size reduction. Compare the proposed crushing step with direct pulping or refining. A crusher breaks material down; a separate pulper or refiner controls its own product and reject streams.
Seeds and inclusions
State the seed, stem and foreign-material condition and identify which inclusions are permitted in the offered machine. Do not assume a fruit crusher removes seeds or separates unwanted fractions.
Check texture and transfer
Trial the actual fruit condition and assess coarse fragments, fines and free liquid against the next process. Confirm the transfer duty from observed mash behaviour rather than pipe diameter or motor size.
Review changeover
Inspect retained material, drains and removable working parts after the same trial. Agree a cleaning and reassembly procedure for the supplied machine, especially where different soft-fruit batches share one configuration.
